Astrophytum asterias has a distinct spotted look that earns it the common name 'Sand Dollar Cactus!' This cactus is endangered in the wild due to poaching and habitat destruction, but it can be found somewhat easily in cultivation (so there's no excuse for buying wild-collected specimens!) due to the fact that it readily seeds. Hardy down to 25 degrees F if kept dry!

You will receive a healthy, well-rooted Astrophytum asterias in a 4-inch plastic pot.

Care Tips

We recommend partial shade for the best coloring, though Astrophytum can also take full sun. Plant in a fast-draining soilless mixture, and water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry in spring and summer.
