Succulence Virtual Events are amazing!
We know this because that’s what our clients say. Let us host a party with your friends or colleagues from anywhere in the world and help everyone make plant art for their home.
How do we schedule?
You work with our scheduling team (classes@thesucculence.com) to find a date and time that works for you. Then we collect a deposit based on your estimated headcount. Boom, your party is on! Your final headcount, address list, and remaining balance will be due 2 weeks before the event. Easy peasy!
What can we make?
You can choose between our Terrarium workshops (succulents or airplants, Kokedama and Vertical Gardening). Most of these workshops have upgrades available.
How long do the workshops last?
We’re glad you asked! Our workshops are generally between 60-120 minutes, depending on how many people are in attendance and how many questions we get them asking. We can tailor the workshop to whatever time works best for you. The pricing stays the same, even if you use the full two hours.
How much does this cost?
Each standard workshop has tiered pricing (based on group size) starting at $60/person plus shipping ($15/kit for standard shipping and $20 for shipping to Eastern Standard time zones).
If you have a large class, we charge $55/person for any guests above 25 people. There is no maximum size. We can handle large groups.
Our minimum is 8 people, but we also have an all-inclusive “up to 7 people” option for $570 which includes shipping in the west.

How does shipping work, and do I have to have my kits shipped?
We ship our plant kits with USPS to each individual guest anywhere in the country. Our kits are fully loaded with everything needed for the workshop which may include plants, soil, decorative rocks, moss, planters, and more. You have the option of skipping shipping charges by picking up plant kits for any amount of the participants at our shop in San Francisco. You may use your own shipping account for a $5/person handling charge.

Kokedama Class Workshop
Learn about the history and technique of wrapping plants in moss. We’ll teach you all about caring for, maintaining, propagating and transplanting succulents, and walk you through planting your own kokedama balls with plants of your choice. Tiered pricing based on group size starts at $60/person plus shipping ($15/kit for standard shipping, $20/kit for EST zones).
Materials: One 4″ succulent plant, 1 bag of soil, sheet moss, monofilament. Ships in a 6x6x6 box weighing ~1lb.
Terrarium Workshop
Plant a 5″ hanging globe terrarium utilizing an array of 2″ plants that you will get to choose from and a huge variety of mosses, pebbles, sands and tumbled glass to decorate with. Learn about the layering required for your terrarium’s longevity. Tiered pricing based on group size starts at $60/person plus shipping ($15/kit for standard shipping, $20/kit for EST zones).
Materials: 5” Glass Globe with flat bottom and top hook, 4 2” succulent plants, bag of soil, 2 bags of different colored pebbles, 1 bag of horticultural charcoal, 1 bag of assorted moss and larger rocks. Ships in a 10x6x6 box weighing ~3lbs.
Terrarium Upgrade with Succulents
The Terrarium upgrade comes with a large 6″ glass Bubble Bowl, five 2″ plants, and more planting and decorative materials: $68/person plus shipping ($18/kit for standard shipping or $24/kit for addresses in EST zones).

Vertical Gardening DIY Workshop
Learn how to use a variety of vertical gardening products and then make a do-it-yourself vertical garden planting succulents in sphagnum moss. Tiered pricing based on group size starts at $60/person plus shipping ($15/kit for standard shipping, $20/kit for EST zones).
Materials: 5”x5”x1” planter cage stuffed with sphagnum moss, six 2” succulent plants, 1 bag of additional sphagnum moss, 1 bag of decorative moss. Ships in a 6x6x6 box weighing ~2lbs.
Vertical Garden DIY Upgrade
We offer a wonderful variety of 12″x10″x1″ frames in special shapes for the Vertical Garden DIY upgrade. You may select from letters of the alphabet, numbers, star, arrow, or dog bone. Each participant will receive a special shape, twelve 2″ succulent plants, and a wide variety of beautiful decorative mosses. $104/person plus shipping ($24/kit standard shipping or $29/kit for addresses in EST zones).
(Shape selection must be no later than one month before the event)
Succulent Wreath Making Workshop
Learn how to create a succulent wreath using succulent cuttings
planted in moss. During this workshop, we will discuss the care and maintenance of succulents, and you will get to use about 45 plants in your wreath.
Circle, heart and square shapes available for selection

Pumpkin Centerpiece Workshop*
Plant succulent cuttings in a mossy mat on top of a gorgeous pumpkin or winter squash! This centerpiece will last for months, and best of all, you will be able to plant the succulents in the ground when the pumpkin is done. Seasonal Availability
Plant a 3-5″ pumpkin with 4-5 succulent cuttings in the workshop. Pricing starts at $75/person (see bottom of page for tiered pricing based on group size). UPGRADE: Plant a 8-10″ pumpkin with 8-12 succulent cuttings. $89/person

Learn all about these rain forest plants including caring for, maintaining and propagating them. Design a 5″ hanging globe aerium utilizing an array of tillandsia (airplants) that you will get to choose from and a variety of mosses, pebbles, sands, tumbled glass, sticks and other natural elements. Tiered pricing based on group size starts at $60/person plus shipping ($15/kit for standard shipping, $20/kit for EST zones).

Discover Succulents Workshop
Our knowledgeable staff will teach you about the care, maintenance, propagation and transplanting of succulent plants and then walk you through planting up a selection of plants in pottery and decorating it with rocks, sands and mosses. Tiered pricing based on group size starts at $60/person plus shipping ($15/kit for standard shipping, $20/kit for EST zones).
Materials: 5” Ceramic planter, four 2” succulent plants, 1 bag of soil, 1 bag of horticultural charcoal, 1 bag of pumice, 1 bag of pebbles, 1 bag of assorted moss and larger rocks. Ships in a 10x6x6 box weighing ~3.5lbs.
Demystifying Houseplants Workshop
Explore the fascinating world of houseplants and learn tried and true methods of caring for them. Create a gorgeous planting utilizing our awesome selection of 4″ houseplants, decorative rocks, tumbled glass and colorful mosses. You will also learn fun facts and how to care for your houseplants long-term.

Plant Mounting Workshop
Learn all about the variety and care of epiphytic plants (think airplants, hoyas, bromeliads and others) and then have a hands-on experience mounting them to decorative pieces of wood using sphagnum moss as the planting medium.
Pricing starts at $75/person (see bottom of page for tiered pricing based on group size).

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy
If you reschedule your event more than 30 days in the future, we are happy to reschedule your event one time without charge, schedules permitting; more than one request to reschedule your event will result in a 10% administrative fee. If you cancel your event with more than 30 days’ notice, your deposit will be refunded less a 10% administrative fee.
If you need to modify your event (change the number of people or the type of event) with more than 30 days’ notice, we will happily accommodate such requests if we can, subject to our other policies such as minimum class size requirements.
We do not offer any refunds and cannot accommodate any rescheduling requests or class modifications within 14 days of your scheduled event. The size of your class or event must be finalized at the time of your final payment. We are happy to accommodate increases in class size at any time, materials and staffing availability permitting. We cannot offer any refunds or price reductions for reductions in class size after final payment of your event.
If you cancel your event less than 30 days but more than 14 days prior to your event, the 10% administrative fee will be deducted from your deposit, and the balance of the deposit will be returned to you in the form of a gift card which can be used for anything in the store or toward a class or event on a different date, and will not expire.
